Sara McGregorMs. Sara K. McGregor, Director of WISH Internships is responsible for finding private and public sector internships for university students working in Washington.  Ms. McGregor works extensively with major corporations and associations to identify internship opportunities and then helps to facilitate the student’s immersion into the position as well into the culture of Washington.

Prior to joining WISH, Ms. McGregor was owner and president of Capitol Catering, Inc. serving the Washington D.C. metropolitan area for over 20 years. Ms. McGregor oversaw an operations staff of several dozen professionals and lead the company from a small business to one of Washington’s largest full-service catering and special events businesses. Her clients included the U.S. Department of State, Members of Congress, Members of the U.S. Supreme Court, and many of the largest trade associations in the United States. While president of Capitol Catering, Ms. McGregor was featured in several regional and national publications including Harpers Bazaar, Grace Ormonde, and Martha Stewart Weddings, and was recognized on several occasions by her peers for extraordinary professional achievement. Ms. McGregor also worked closely with a wide range of Washington’s business and academic elite, gaining an invaluable insight into the inner workings of both the private sector and the area’s higher education institutions.

Ms. McGregor is also an active participant with the Les Aspin Center, a nonpartisan, academically oriented organization that serves to support the efforts of Washington-area university students from Marquette University. Ms. McGregor is also an active supporter of the National Women’s Museum and the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum, both located in Washington.

Ms. McGregor is a graduate of Arizona State University with a BS in Nursing. She took a leave of absence from college to serve as Finance Director of her mother’s Congressional Campaign.

She is a native of Michigan and as the mother of an autistic daughter and son, actively engages in their therapy.
